LANVIN FALL 2012 RTW

Have mercy!  Firstly the shoes - OMG! Encrusted soles. This man is trying to kill me with envy!!!

This is by far my favourite of the Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection. It's Lanvin of course so I expect nothing less than amazing. Alber understands the female silhouette and celebrates it- if you want curves, you will have them; if you want to tone them down, you can. If you were to look at the models undressed most of them would probably have boyish/straight frames but with these dresses there is an illusion of curves.

It's almost as if he has formed a neoprene mold in these intense colours, each one giving a smooth form-fitting structure that accentuates the right areas. From ruffle collars, peplum waists and gold brocade to voluminous skirts, the tailoring which is exquisite - brings it all together. It's small details like a visible zip that runs down the back of the dresses (Alber signature) that add to the simple but luxe vibe of this collection.

Lanvin's Alber Elbaz celebrated his 10 years with the brand with colour and jewels.
Hopefully the day I can afford a dress he'll still be at the helm.
