My first ever tattoo was 3 stars on my right foot (different sizes). Then a diamond on my right wrist. I could sit here and give you some long poetic story (there is one) but I won't. They both do mean something to me.

Tattoo
I am obsessed with tattoos. I only have 2 but I've never really wanted to rush them as I've got my whole life ahead of me...and I kinda like the idea of getting tattooed around the world (not random artists though) and that requires a ton of research..because a tatt is for life!!

I love small and slight subtle pieces but also want 1 large piece for my left side on my ribcage. Saira Hunjan is the artist I would love to tattoo me but unfortunately she's retired and ventured into collaborations with fashion labels etc (my heart weeps). Her art is inspired by indian henna art and culture. She uses colour and geometrics to add intricate detail to her pieces and they are truly beautiful. Sigh, no rush though!

February...brrr
I'm loving H+M's spring collection - monochromes and florals. I finally picked up a striped shirt (a wardrobe staple), a floral print tee and peplum. Will show how I style them soon.
Wearing my favourite camel beanie from H+M, a denim shirt from Monki and vintage clip on earrings.
hair update - well the fro is growing and I'm still no way close to knowing what products are best for my hair so I try to keep my routine as simple as possible. I wash/cleanse with dudu osun (black soup), replenish moisture with aussie's miracle moist shampoo + conditioner, aphogee protein and homemade hair oil (coconut, JBCO, olive oil and whipped shea butter). I also use protective styles most of the time now since it's winter in London - my favourites being wigs and cornrows.
skin update - I have dry and eczema prone skin and I was recommended this routine by a friend and I must say it works. So I now scrub my face at night with St Ives apricot body scrub to remove any debris from the day then cleanse/moisturize with Pond's cold cream. I must say my skin is baby soft. I also use pond's in the morning to clean my face instead of shower gel or soap.

Look of the day: All Black everything.
I'm trying to post more outfit looks...I don't know how other bloggers do it but I guess I need to get into the habit of doing it. I was in Selfridges browsing Longchamp bags and spotted the all black 'Planetes' tote. I love it but just wish it had compartments :(
h+m camel beanie
vintage wool blazer
h+m black scarf
topshop black skinny jeans

Turbans + ZARA
I've dusted off my large pashmina's and started wearing turbans
again. They not only keep my big head warm but also completely transform
a look. The styles below are a large bow and 2 buns.
I'm not a huge fan of zara mainly because I think they are overpriced and I've never been happy with the quality of their pieces; but there is a new Zara store on oxford street and it was just calling my name. I spotted this tailored sleeveless wool + leather jacket with copper zip details - a great item for layering this winter. I also spotted a lot of textured pieces like a floral sheer lace top, snake print tee, leather sleeve tee and a quilted leather jacket with beading along the lapel. Everything below could be worn together in various ways. I must say I'm impressed with the symmetry of the collection this winter - every piece has it's place.

During the hiatus I decided I wanted to do something creative and start designing jewellery and accessories for my label: X (keeping the name under wraps for now)....but right now I'm searching for materials, inspiration and I have developed a store + blog that will be launched in a few months.
I've always believed that jewellery and accessories make the man...every look is complete when you add some else to it, no matter how small. The slightest pop in colour or change in texture makes all the difference. That is what I aim to achieve with my label. My items will be affordable and timeless pieces for women (or men!) and it will show a side to jewellery designing that can hopefully influence others.

7th of March
I'm off to look for my coat ...remember this post? The only day that I'm free from uni work and it's raining cats + dogs. Beauty is pain I guess. I'm so excited about the launch of the Marni collection tomorrow though I won't be one of those queueing up from 3am (true slaves to fashion or just ebay enthusiasts?!), I will try and get there between 8-9am if sleep allows it.
If I manage to get my hands on anything nice from the collection I'll probably do a giveaway, stay tuned x
